The Aviary Tattoo Shop was established in 2023 by artist and owner Gretchen Diehl. Having started her career as a fine artist, Gretchen was always looking for ways to make her art accessible to everyone. Her personal approach to the art and craft of tattooing has gained her a loyal following. Each piece is unique and tells a personal story.

Madeline has been a permanent makeup artist and aesthetician for nearly a decade. She’s always been intrigued with adding tattooing to her repertoire. Madeline has been a client of Gretchen’s for years and began apprenticing in 2023. Her style ranges from girly to goth, and is mixed with her years of supporting clients being more comfortable in their own skin.

Mark Dudlik

Mark is a designer & artist who branched into tattooing in 2023. He paints watercolor birds, frogs, cats, and other wildlife. He’s learning to bring that same painterly style to his tattoo work, while also exploring styles from traditional designs to silly, joy-filled little doodles, and everything in between. But the most challenging thing that’s he’s been working on his how to end this bio in a funny way.

Kendall has been in love with all forms of the arts since she was a child. From the theatre to sketching, she has always considered herself a creative. As soon as Kendall was able to pick up her first tattoo machine in 2023, she found her calling. Her current favorite style is fine line and tiny tattoos. Starting out self-taught, she is now apprenticing under Gretchen and is so thankful to have joined the team.
